if you don’t think motorcity is an inspiring show then you’re not watching it properly.

Hi!
Here’s RED. Finally. haha
I would say he was the most difficult character I designed for Motor(still pulling hair for this one lol). We got so many revisions how his Kane co suit looks too much like Tron suit. I think this design went through over 20 revisions. It took me and mark sooooo much time drawing and fixing him over and over. I also had to bring most of the detail down for animation, but it was still very complicated all the animators hated me for this. lol
Oh and everyone wonder so much about exactly who is RED. haha. The truth is, I don’t even know. I guess I can share some info since the show is done and season two is cancelled *cry cry*. When I was first designing RED(actually called Mystery stalker back then), both his identity and gender was not yet decided. I personally wanted RED to be really kick ass female character and that is why I used black widow logo for RED :). I’ve seen some fan arts with RED being girl and I love them :D! but I gotta say I did designed Jenzen thinking he could be RED as well. RED really needed more time to build his own character and I was hoping that could happen in season two. I did get requests from fans to draw RED without his helmet, but I’m going to keep him under the shadow and mysterious like he’s suppose to. :)
I think I only have mama’s boy and some side characters left. Is there any other character you guys wanna see? *beside the RED’s secret identity of course lol

O Hi :D
Here’s the Claire in amazon suit. When I did that amazon concept, I did both in solid red and color version. Claire’s hair was inspired by receptionist at titmouse at the time, Nancy. I really love how Claire’s amazon version turned out :)

David Vandervoort, who did character design work for Motorcity, designed a technique called “Facinator” for Titmouse Inc. which allowed the animators to see every possible angle of a characters head. Using a built in in-house plug-in for Flash the animators were able to use the program to achieve fluid head motion. David also created all the head rigs for the show.

As clean up artists, we NEVER touched the heads. The heads were animated separately from the body. The only thing we’d ever edit was Julie’s hair so it moves or goes behind her body, but luckily they updated the models so that her hair model was shorter and less of a pain to break and mask n’ things. Maybe once in a blue moon with Kane’s ponytail or Mike’s hair as well.
This show needs to come back.
